Mom caught on

My mom caught on to my smoking habbits... well atleast the fact that i smoke, but I don't think she knows how much :stoned:

Anyways, today when i was on a blunt ride she left a note on my desk about drugs and such. It kinda made me sad, but then pissed off. I know she cares but she pretty much made it sound like just because i smoke pot im gonna ruin my life and pretty much be like that kid in requiem from a dream stealing money and shit. Ive done other drugs and yeah it can ruin ur life but not if you don't let it. Now i feel like leaving her a dumb note (because i don't want to do it in person...) about how alot of things she thinks about pot isn't true and that its just all gov propoganda etc.



So what are some things i should say/mention?

just explain to her that in retrospect marijuana is FAR less dangerous than say Tobacco/Alcohol. Tell her that the only people who's lives are ruined are the people that decide to upgrade and do harder drugs (I.E. Cocaine, Heroin, etc.) Just explain to her that only dumbasses lives are ruined by pot. Not smart people.

Just try not to sound like some cliche teenager. The term "government propaganda", while accurate, may not be the best thing to include in your not.

WHat you say is essentially what you said to us:

* You feel that that the situation could of been handled more maturely had she approached you directly and that you are open to discuss it.

* That you realize she's doing her job as a parent and appreciate that she's looking out for you.

* That you understand her concerns but this is something that you've made a personal choice in doing and you feel that you can handle it responsibly.

You'll probably have a more productive conversation...

Remember people who have never used marijuana will never undrestand how or why it would be useful to you. What you have to do is tell or show her that its a choice that you have made and prove that you are able to go throught life or you everyday tasks without a problem even when you are smoking (example would be if you are in school try to keep you marks up). Thats all I can think of right now.

how old are you? if you are under 18 i'm not sure there's anything you can say to your mom to convince her that you smoking pot is OK and she lets you continue to smoke. talk to her to her face about it, thats the best way. writing notes is easy because you can think about everything first, but its just not as effective. just talk with her like an adult, don't yell, don't say anything you're going to regret. also, the best thing to do is get/keep your grades up, keep up on any chores and maybe do more than you normally do, and just prove to her that its not a big deal as everyone thinks. also understand that it is your mom, who hears "marijuana" and instantly associates that with "drug," and "drugs are bad". your mom just cares, just be honest and rational.

yeah im 18. I decided im just not going to do anything unless she asks me about it in person... and if she does, then ill figure it out from there. Im going to college soon so even if i have to quit for a month or two then thats fine.
