is pot food better than smoke???

Obviously it's better FOR you, since you're not smoking anything. But I'm just wondering whether you personally like the experience better, and if you'd choose to consume it that way all the time if you had the option.
I like how the high comes on quickly from smoking, but I've never tried brownies (etc) before, and I have a feeling I'd like the food method better. One of my least favorite things about smoking is the body-load I get from a lot of pot, the chest-heaviness feeling, tiredness, and such.
Do brownies still make you tired afterwards? Do they still produce an unpleasant body-load at all (or other common, unwanted physical side effects, such as red eyes)? Also, would you say you lose more 'bang for your buck' by cooking your weed, and is that why people don't seem to do it as much? Usually people say to buy mids or lower quality stuff for brownies, but is it really a 'waste' to use high quality stuff, if the outer-space effects are what you're looking for?

		bump
I've heard brownies are a bit like "tripping on pot"--does that mean it's a lot longer/stronger/like being able to smoke a shitload of pot in a few seconds without the lung irritation?

Hmm, I'm not sure myself, but if Marinol is anything like eating pot, it's not so bad. It seems to be much more of a strong cerebral high than anything, and it does last for quite a few more hours than smoking. I also know from experience that enough pot really CAN cause you to trip, it happened to me when I took 5 Marinol one night (bad mistake.. lol). The trips aren't really anything major, you'll swear objects are floating and see cool color patterns. When it happened to me, people who were walking by in the house seemed to leave a trail of themselves, and I also thought I could see people's auras.
I know some people here are gonna shoot me for comparing marinol to actual pot, but all marinol is is synthetic THC anyway. The high from marinol isn't quite as natural as a good stone from smoking though. The effects are definitely much more gradual, it took about an hour or two to kick in. Anyways, if I ever do try actual pot foods I'll let you know more. Be sure to read other experiences if you really want to find out, there's plenty here on these boards as well as erowid.org. Hope this helps!

Eating THC makes you really stoned for a much longer time...
it has to do with simple chemistry...
if you smoke something it enters your blood stream immeadiately and also stays active in your bloodstream for a shorter period of time...
when you something it takes longer to enter your bloodstream but is more evenly spaced out over a longer period of time...
I have eaten brownies before where I can't leave the couch for hours on end because I am too stoned to move...I still feel high the next day...
:smokin:

I suggest u try em its supposed to be fun juss do it right or could be disappointed

hmm so even if the THC in your bloodstream is more evenly spaced out, does that mean there is still MORE in your bloodstream at any given time, since you feel a lot higher than you would if you were smoking instead? So therefore a single brownie must contain a lot more THC than the amount of bud that you would normally smoke.
Now it's starting to seem like you get MORE bang for your buck, since when you cook it none of the herb is destroyed by the heat of a lighter flame. Just like how vaporizing is supposed to be more economical, for the same reason.

Hey, for a conventional brownie box mix, is a bluntworth of mids good enough? And what happens if you put too much in? I was thinking that if I didn't have enough mids that I would just make a brownie for me and my friend using the butter recipe and the box recipe...help?
