Standing up fast-blindness hallucinations

Since ive been smoking so much good chron, and alot of it, sometime if i stand up fast (even when im not high) i will go blind, and start having random hallucinations for a few seconds. Things like outlines of faces appearing in a light tracer format.

Also it feel really overwhelming when it happends, i loose balance, and see shit, and cant see properly...

Just wondering if anyone else has had this.. might be because i hold my breath as i stand up (a habit of mine since i have been toking elevators)

Is this bad for me, its fun usually but, sometimes its unexpected and i fall on my ass. :rasta:

Are you by any chance taking any medications of any kind? Besides the weed, that is? What you're having sounds a lot like "orthostatic hypotension," which means you have a rather dramatic spell of low blood pressure when you stand up quickly. Because enough blood isn't getting to your brain when you stand, you experience the altered consciousness, strange hallucinations, visual changes, and even falling/fainting for a period.

Standing low blood pressure is fairly common, and it's a common side effect of lots of medicines. And since weed can often relax blood vessels and lower people's blood pressure, it even makes sense that that might cause it. Temporary low blood pressure's not dangerous in itself, except that most people do want to make sure they're getting enough blood, and consequently oxygen, to their brains when they stand up because there's a risk that you could faint or fall against something like a coffee table and injure your head in the process.

Might be worth cutting back slightly on the chronic to see if that makes a difference. Then if the symptom continues, it might be worth asking a doctor about it and/or looking at any other meds you're taking.

Hey man that shit happens to me often too. It kinda changes thugh depending on my chooice of drug thugh liek if I do E it is really strong. I think it is weird but kinda neat at the same time cause everything goes all tingly and shit.

Ive had this happen.

Particularly when kneeling and working on something for a period of time. When you stand back up there is a rush of blood to the legs below the knees and this creates a temporary pressure drop to the brain like bird says.

Seems to coincide with smoking mj with me. Lasts about 20 seconds but can sometimes make vision look like static on a tv set and I have to grab something momentary. Not always, but know what your talking about.
Fairly common with mj smokers, called "head rush".

I smoked with a guy one time and he was kneeling down working on his truck, stood straight up. Fell backwards stiff as a board and bonked his head good on the concrete. After watching that always make sure to grab on to something.

dude this same shit happens to me and my friends ive seen one of my friends take a huge bong rip then stand up and jus like pass out then woke up laugghin n shit it makes everything go numb and black and u cant hear shit weird:stoned:

This has happened to me when i get up out of bed really fast and start movin around. Wierd.

Has anybody ever had their eyeball knocked off-line and Weed magically fixes it???

The only thing I have ever had weed "Magically" fix is being bored or sober.

Weed also increases your heart rate when you smoke. So a faster beating heart and lower blood pressure both go with a blunt. Good to know when mixing with another activity.

Also as MJ is said to be connected to eye health it may be affecting your vision slightly.

Oh and the "Elevator" thing is dangerous as are "elephant" hits. You know when you take a hit, hold your breath and a friend squeezes your chest.
