NEW with questions
Hey all,
Great site and info. I am new to the world of marijuana and have a few questions.
I just started smoking and have some generic old bud someone gave me. It doesn't taste very good...I see post about different flavors...mine tastes like, well, harsh, for want of a better word. I did a little reading and there appears to be a whole lot of stuff out there...I had no idea. The pictures on this site alone have blown my mind. The buds look like beautiful flowers...mine not so much.
So:
What is the difference between "indica" and "sativa"? Do different strains have different tastes and buzzes? Are some more mellow than others?
I am trying to get a card because I started smoking due to chronic pain from a huge thoracic surgery...Is some of the amazing looking weed I see here availible at cannabis clubs in the San Fran area?
I am sure I will have some more questions...thanks in advance...I am looking foreward to trying something better than the stuff I have now.
Peace, J

Try and buy better bud, its well worth the money, cannabis sativa and cannabis indica are to different species within the cannabis family, which produce different highs, the indica makes you sleepy and have a nice body buzz while sativa gives you a head buzz and perky high.
Im not sure what a cannabis club is but i find if you look around for the right dealer you can buy some really good stuff that smells, looks, and tastes great. not to mention the better quality high that you just dont get from shwagg.

Yup there are 2 different types of weed:
Sativa / Indica
aka:
highs / lows
Sativa gives you literally a high... you feel happy.. buzzing, every cell in your body becomes alive and thoughts flow through your mind like water. Music sounds awsome. I become more social, great for partys.
Indica turns you into a couch potato, you can be phylosophical, this isn't neccesarilly a bad thing though. The high is often more powerful and you can get so stoned you can't string a sentence together. Personally I don[t think its much of a party drug.
Most weed is a mix of both and most dealers don't distinguish so just go with the flow and hope for the best. Soon you'll learn the subtle and unsubtle differences and feelings.
Have fun!

you can make your bud better by curing it in an airight jar for a week or longer.

^^^ When you harvest your plants, you need to leave them in dark, dry places to kill off plant chemicals such as cholorphyll so you can smoke it.
Leave it for a week like he said and it should be good to smoke.
