Manipulation of flower induction timing

Hello,

If one is to induce flowering on a plant (presuming that it has taken ~ 1 month to reach the current point of clearly obvious (female) flowers), does it become more / less, or stay equally important to maintain the cycle of covering and uncovering?

During the one month period of covering, there were several instances of 2-3 day/night cycles where the plant was not covered. Essentially, will the plant continue to develop flowers more hardily now (since hormone processes have been initiated), or will it be just as important to maintain the schedule?
