10' X 10' Room
I am lucky enough to have a 10' X 10' room at my disposal. Can some one tell me if I would gain enough yeild to use 4 600 watt lights compared to 2 1000 watts. I know the power bill would be higher on 4 600 but would it be worth it. I plan on growing Big Bud.
Thanks

of coarse the 600 wattage will give you more...more lumens..more bud...but give somemore specifics...is the room white? you gonna get some mylar for reflection? just bought me some mylar...and from what i hear...its probably gonna give another bulb to me free...jjust from reflective difference between the white paint and the mylar...keep us posted...and be sure to get some good air flow in that room...big fans...

I firmly believe that multiple small lamps are better than 1000s, unless you're growing in a freaking BARN with multiple 1000's! :D
You are going to save yourself a bit of a headache using 4x600 because you will be able to arrange them in such a way as to get a nice even distribution of light throughout the room, without risk of serious hot spots.
And you have the flexibility of when you are just starting out and only have enough plants to justify turning on one of the 600s, you aren't wasting energy.
HOWEVER:
Have you ever grown before?
Starting small is wise. If this is your first time around, I'd say go for 1x250 or 400 MH + 1x600HPS, MH for veg, HPS for flower. See how it goes. Add lights as needed.
Best of luck.

I'm going to start using those Lumitec 600 watt electric balast lights.
They are supposed to give of the same light as a 1000 watt light.

well in a 10 x 10 it depends on how much room you like to have....I have 4 600w lamps set up with a 4' square spot for each which ends up being 8' sq. that only leaves you with 1' arround the outside to walk arround IMO not enough room but it dose depend on how much room your gona let the plants take up....just think about it before you jump into it....here is a little pic for you. the lights are 4 600w agrosun red bubls ran off of lumitec electronic balasts (240v)....later DH
