best kind of pipe

What do you consider to be the best kind of pipe? (glass, metal, etc) Or bongs and stuff, for that matter.
I'm curious, how do the different materials affect the experience? I've used pretty much just glass.

Glass bongs. They smoke the best. Period.

I agree that glass is probably the best commonly used material to smoke out of. I really like bongs but I don't have the money for a glass bong so I just make them homemade. Not as nice but it gets the job done.

there is nothing like a good rip from any glass peice. In my experience metal gets too hot after awhile, and it kind cheapens the experience...

What I would recommend however is a nice wooden piece, you'll get a smooth distinct flavor.

I actually like my old faithful metal bowl, because it's easy to scre apart to de-resinate. It doesn't get hot too often, but when it does I can just hold this plastic band in the middle. It tastes good too, because I've been using it for over a year.

glass ...glass and more glass.. my spoons are glass.. my hitters are glass...and my bongs are glass...i will never go back to using metal again. Personally i think it leaves a wizard of oz taste in my mouth(like im the tinman).
Only downside to glass, i found is when you go fo a roady with your friends: everyone gets high as fuck and you stop for munchies and your friend forgets to put your pipe into your cozy(aka pipe pillow) and it smashes on the cement and your out 50 60 bucks ...but anyway ...glass is smoking choice!

I don't know about you but if my friends did that to me THEY'D be the ones out 50-60 bucks.

Glass all the way. I hate the way metal ones taste for one and two you cant boil them or clean them as thoroughly cause you cant use chemicals on them really. I like glass too cause you can get incredible looking pieces that are just nice to look at.

Check the glass you are buying. Cheap pipes are just that. Cheap. Try and go with pyrex or some other strong glass.
