help needed with carbon filter plz

hey guys im growin in a tent in my bedroom im fittin a carbon filter soon.. if the grow is very smelly and needs the carbon extracter filer on durin lights out would this be ok considering the tent will be closed? i will have a fan runnin inside the tent gowin over the plants.. im jus very confused and dont want to fuck things up.. or would i have to leave a bit of the tent open if i have the carbon filter on durin lights out and use some malar as a blind so light does not leak to my girls ..thanks all .. :rasta:

You need a inlet and a outlet in your tent you cant just close it up

hey OregonSkunk so would i need to jus cut a hole at the bottom of the tent to let air in??? if so my tent is right next to the wall would cuttin a hole in my tent which is like inches away from the wall bring in enough air for me to run my carbon filter during lights off with the tent closed???? allso my window is allways open and its like a ft and half away from my grow tent plz advise from any1 would help... and thanks OregonSkunk for ur reply...
pps if cuttin a hole at the bottom is all i need to do.. how big should it be?
