Legal Question - Oregon marijuana cultivation laws and child custody

I have a friend who is dating a marijuana cultivator in Oregon. She only knows this because he has said so, she has never seen it. She is worried that dating this guy threatens her custody of her 8 year old child. If she is never involved with his illegal activities, does she have anything to worry about?

Well if the guy gets busted they wont bust the grilfriend too unless they have proof she new about it. The only way it would realy end up involving her is if they start living together becuase the pigs will just assume she knew if they are living together. If shes clean though of drugs and they do end up living together if the crops outside and not some huge underground pot industry she can easily play dumb with out suspicion IF shes clean thats what the cops will use to see if shes involved.

pot is great, but when it comes to your kids NEVER, I repeat, NEVER do anything that you think might jeopardize them. Just dating this guy may not be a problem, but if it gets serious there's a bigger problem. Only your friend knows the dynamics of what's at risk here so she is the one who must make a choice. If she believes that the custody issue with her child is sensitive right now and if dating this guy at all puts her kid at risk then, my god, that's a no brainer.

I totally agree with you Lovin', but it comes down to the same question. Is there risk? I honestly don't see any IF what she says is true, but I'm no expert. He has a real or a cover job (not sure), and never brings anything incriminating over. She doesn't even smoke pot. Really, she only has his word that he does it. If they got married or moved in together I could see it getting alot more complicated, but I'm just talking about her risk in the current situation.
