Hi all.. i have a problem around here where i occasionally get weed that is wet, and therefore wont burn very well in joints. Is there anyway to tell if its wet before actually rolling it up and lighting it. For some reason i cant tell by the feel of it.
maybe the smell. I find i can smell when bud is a bit damp becuase it has more of an almost nuttier smell thats deeper than what it usually smells like.
haha if that makes sense.
Also I like my bud springy, but before you break it up try squeezing the but a bit with your thumb and forefinger, and if it seems more squishy than springy then its probably a bit damp. Not necessarily squishy, more that it cant return to its original shape as well as "springy" bud.
so baisically what your not looking to smoke are those squishy buds that smell like nuts.

grind it. Iv never had a problem with damp when grinding. Much more efficient aswell.
i know some people who moisten they're weed a bit before they smoke it because it burns slower i guess
when you recieve wet weed, prolly your dealer is hustling you because if you wet lets say .3g of bud, the weight from the water will read it .5g which is a full ten sack but your really getting .3g...
...fuck, wait ... .5g is a full ten sack!? WHERE IS THIS!? That's a shame ... around here, we sell .5 as a nickel ... and that's if we're willing to sell it. swim sold a 2.0 $20 just yesterday. Top notch stuff, at that.
So, yeah, if it's wet ... you can look and see that it's not as shimmery with goodness as you're expecting. Tell the man you want more for your money when that happens ... about 10% more.
ukmonkey is right. get an herb grinder. you can get one for like fifteen bucks on ebay. if the weed is wet then it wont grind very well.

especially if it has a kif catcher (pollen case). sprinkle that shit on top of your bowl and its the best.
