is *this* the saliva test? (description)

the only reason I am posting this is because the HR guy who administered the test is not the sharpest tack in the bunch ... he said they were testing my DNA ... ????? which seems unbelievable since it is for a social services job where everyone there looks like they are smoking on the job.

he gave me a stick with a small white card on the end of it and told me to hold it between my cheek and gum for three minutes. it tasted salty. then he took my driver's license # and put the stick in a plastic tube and sealed it.

is this the saliva test that tests for use within the past 24 hours or so? I haven't smoked in 2 weeks because I knew I was having to take the test -- of course I was so detoxed and hydrated thinking they were doing a urine test, I could hardly wait to run to the bathroom.
