I'm indecisive about how I should move on and thinking that pollinating and getting a yield of seeds would be a good way to go. I am also impatient and want some smoke. So how much do seeds reduce the yield?

Alot.
Basically, the buds are seed pods. If they are not pollinated they stay emty and that what you smoke. If it gets pollinated you get seeds in them.
So if you pollinate properly you wont have much smokable bud.
Well Sgt. Stedenko,
When starting a new strain I prefer to create some seeds for storage in case something ever happens to my mother. I grow three or four plants take a males out of the area for review. After I find one I like I take a branch with open balls and place in a large plastic ziplock and introduce it to a branch on the future mother. At harvest about 75 or 80 percent of the one pollinated female is seedless if I got two females. I still got a shitload of seeds to store if I need them.
To answer your question bluntly, if you left the male and female together to pollinate freely yeild would suffer by 30 or 40 percent. Good luck.
Loco
Does it take longer for the seeds 2 mature that just the bud.
