My two seedlings..
Well I started these quite some time ago from bagseed. Probably at least 4 weeks, now im just keeping them alive for the sake of learning. Eventually, if they survive their time with me, I plan on planting them outdoors and seeing if they make it.
They had a long life, I sprouted them at my friends house and we eventually planted them outdoors while we waited to get our lights. We kept them watered by an automated hose timer from Home Depot. It worked well except I think we completely over watered them and stunted their growth or killed them. One day when we visited the plants we found the stem of the seedling gone and just the leaves there, perfectly intact. After that we found another one of the plants completely gone. When both of these disappeared there were no tracks in the soil or any marks on the leaves. We covered them with chicken wire, incase the culprit was birds.
Eventually my friend who is an electrician gave us two 70w MH lights and ballasts which we soon hooked up and moved the plants underneath. We moved another seedling in with them which we had grown under cfls, this seedling even though much younger was much bigger than the other two. A few days later the newest seedling was completely gone, again with no tracks.
We then quickly moved the remaining two into my dorm closet which now have 4 25w cfls and are fed superthrive every so often.
Well I was just wondering if you guys could give me any ideas how we've lost so many of them or if you think they might be infested. Well thanks for reading that lengthy story.
Haha well this one plant is surviving some how and the other seems to have something on it. I dont think Im overfertilizing because their lower leaves were brown before I got superthrive. If you look closely in the picture there seems to be a bubble like thing on the healthier plant, its much easier to see in real life. Thanks again any help is greatly appreciated.

looks like Pythium Wilt (damping-off) from over-watering, and/or poor drainage .. and, you should not be giving nutes to a seedling less than a couple weeks old, and advisedly then, only when the plant indicates a deficiency ... they grow fine if ya leave them alone, for the most part .... we tend to 'love' them to death, (I know I sometimes do) ... :smokin:

Overfertilizing? Your giving them nutes? They dont need that yet :p seedlings thrive off of water, fresh air and light.

My two seedlings..
I wasnt giving them any nutes until just recently, and just because theyre well over 4 weeks old. So I guess theyre not seedlings, but theyre seedling size. From the best I can guess I over watered them and was hoping some superthrive would help out.

My two seedlings..
How much should I be watering them? Should I only water them if the soil is dried out? or how often

My two seedlings..
Well, from some reading Im almost certain they have damping off, thanks for the tip reaper. Just to see what happens I removed all their dead leaves, leaving the green ones and I'm going to water them less from here on out. I cant start anymore plants as I'm moving home for the summer and cant grow there.

The fan i have isnt in any of the pics, its just a bathroom exhaust fan and keeps it at a very moderate temperature. Yea, I would definitely start over but I have to wait till I move back in the fall, haha I dont want my mom to find these. I actually plan on making a nice cabinet and growing in it for next year. Thanks for all the help guys
