Can't we all just get a Bong?

While I am a casual reader of this forum I might shed some insight and possibly some casual observations I have noticed in this forum.

1. People fear change. Its just natural that people be uptight and worry about their rights in a place that seems to be one of the last bastions of freedom. ( gee I hope I used that word right :>)

2. Since the change of ownership there have been a lot of complaints about banning but at the same time you might want to read the comments of posters. A majority of them worried that this would change the forum.

3. When people get worried they tend to notice things more carefully in my case I tend to be more critical. More than once I was tempted to write a less than positive response only to re-think my actions and then decide not to. Not because of fear of reprisal but the opposite the fear of making a harsh and possibly incorrect judgement. Not to metion letting my language being swayed by emotion. I have a real gutter mouth deep down and I was taught to roll with the best of them.

4. A little background on a former Mod or me for instance ( in my opinion and experience as a mod on irc for years ) when I was a Mod,and there were good and bad, first and formost I was there for the benefit of others. I was volunteering my time to help the greater cause.

It was a slap in the face to get attacked by someone who first of all didn't know me from a hole in the ground and who would never say that crap to my face. ( these were the things that might have went thru my head when confronted by someone trying to pull my strings)

I am a kind and gentle person with a healthy amount of restraint. I could take a bunch of gruff and I really enjoyed the forum and helping people.

I am also a strong person who will fight for my rights and more importantly the rights of others. I just can't stand to see others get dumped on.

5. Even as a mod and I tried to be the fairest mod I knew how to be. I would and could make mistakes. Right or wrong I would openly admit if I felt I lost my temper and let bygones be bygones. You see I took over for some mods that I felt weren't doing the best job.

It is possible to be a good mod and get people angry at you. as there are so many different types of people, opinions, and not all people who think they know the whole story really do.

In parting try to remember the huge amount of people that are logging in to this forum and why we are here. Verbal abuse, Slander or just mean words will not solve your problems just make them worse. You may even regret them later. Remember that mods are human too. Simply email or message them. I am not sure of the best way in this forum but that is a easy solution to find.

Mods, I am not a threat just an observer. Take a deep breath, and thanks for the hard work because being a mod is not easy.

I really like this forum and If we can focus... hrm what was I saying???

Concerning the change part..it might help if more than 54 members viewed the new sticky from the owner he posted today..concerning personal attacks,slander,scamming,sales,bans etc..I think the Mods are doing great with the changes..good post.:thumbsup:

it's funny...LOL. I remember last month when the same people that are bitchin' about rule changes and banning...were bitchin' about moderators being invisible and not doing their job. Touche'
