So, we all know that it is typical to get bloodshot eyes when stoned. Could anyone explain why this happens? I'd like to know.

well,im not sure but i hear red eye comes from a dehydration of the eye.
I believe it is because it dialates the blood vessels in the eye. Thats why people with glaucoma (sp?) smoke it.
yeah thats one theory ive heard here, and i think the guy actually had the proof to go along with it too.Quote:

I rarely get red eyes when I'm high. I used to, but rarely anymore.
you know what red eyes are caused from...not blinking your eyes so your eyes get all red and dry. lol jk i have no idea, but i think orangekrush is right something to do with blood vessels...man im stoned
for some reason it seem like i get red eyes worse and worse the mroe i smoke. i couldnt notice a difference the first few times i was smoking, now it looks like i just poured salt in them. i honestly cant get away with not looking high any more to anyone. it is pretty sad
Yeah, it's because the THC dilates the blood vessels in your eyes.
Hey, nice thread. I've always wondered that too. But I think I heard somewhere it was something to do with THC dilating the blood vessels in your eyeballs. Meh, smoke it up.
Peace
