Question about cannabis and brain function...
Ok...my mom, who is a Vicodin addict, told me that addiction causes the brain to stop producing it's own dopamine and the only way the addict can get the dopamine is to use the drug.
Is this true? Is this something that is permanent or can it be cured? And most importantly, does it occur with long-term, heavy smoking of weed?
Thanks!
Question about cannabis and brain function...
No, this is what rehab is for..and sometimes if the addiction is extreme you have to go through a detox. But I read in a biology book if you give your brain time the brain starts producing the normal ammount of dopamine needed before the addiction altered it.
Question about cannabis and brain function...
Weed doesn't affect the Dopamine receptors.
But, that's what cocaine and heroin do to you.
Question about cannabis and brain function...
the drug produces tons of it for you so your brain figures it doesnt need to bother anymore, but once the drug isnt doing it for you anymore your brain takes time to start producing it at normal levels again.
Cannabis has nothing to do with this, enjoy.
Question about cannabis and brain function...
Cannabis does not effect ANYTHING in the brain, apart from cannabinoid receptors and Glioma Brain cells which the brain doesnt use.
No matter what people say, cannabis is harmless and not phyiscally adictive
