Having trouble pressing hash

I collected a nice batch of hash through a dry screen and I tried a couple of different methods of pressing, but neither one did what I expected.

For the first chunk, I put it in a film case and used a C-clamp to compress it in there. Then I just cut the end off the film case and popped it out. I had no way of heating it, but I figured the screw press would create enough pressure to merge the crystals into hash. It wasn't too bad, but the screw press wasn't straight so the chunk was kind of powdery and fell apart.

On my second attempt, I wrapped it in cellophane, taped it up, wrapped it in wet newspaper and flipped it around in the frying pan on a low heat and pressed down on it. Then I took it out and leaned into hard with a rolling pin for a while. It came out similar to the C-clamp method and broke into 3 pieces.

Then I took the 3 pieces and stacked them up and did another pressing on the C-clamp as hard as I could possibly press it till I thought the clamp would break (which is pretty much impossible).

From that I ended up with a nice solid chunk but it's still not the consistency that I expected. The stuff I have now is somewhat solid but can be easily broken with my fingers and is a little bit crumbly inside. But I was thinking it would be more solid, and not crumbly when I cut it. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to apply more heat or what? Any ideas?

i think with the cellophane and newspapers thing your supposed to put it in the oven for a while...theres a very detailed video around here doing it step by step...

easiest method by far....

take your kief, throw it between some parchemnt paper (kinda like wax paper only by it at the stationary store) .

make the pile not that thick in any area, kinda spread out but not to much

fold it over

iron it low like on 2 or 3

voila-a flexible stick of hash that you can bend into a lump!

I found that buying this cool little silver cyndrilic thing at the head shop works wonders.:)

even easier is
mix into some iso alcohol and then evaporate the alcohol
all the thc will melt together and solidify when you evaporate the alcohol
it is not in any methods you will read about but it will work good

I've made hash a few times, this works best I found:

Take your kif and wrap it in plastic wrap. Wrap it tightly and ensure that plastic is covering all of the kif.

Take your wrapped kif and wrap it in some paper. Tape it shut.

Preheat your oven to 175deg.F. Not Celsius. You do that and you may vap. away the THC.

Now, wet your hash package wrapped in plastic and paper. Wet it really good.

Place in the oven, on the rack, for 15min.

Take out and use a block of wood to compress it. Use the strength of your arms, or I use the weight of my body by placing the wrapped kif on the floor, taking a wooden block on top of the pack, and stepping using all my weight to press the package.

I press heavily for a good 2-5min.

Place back in the oven for 15 minutes, and repeat about 4 or 5 times.

Done. You should come out with a nice slab of hash. Peace.
