I won two season passes to Six Flags. Unfortunately, I don't ride the rides there, so they would be a waste for me. So I thought it would be pretty neat to do something special with them.
I have a friend who is suffering from brain cancer. He and his wife are completely broke due to all the medical bills. So I thought that perhaps their son would really enjoy getting to go to Six Flags anytime he wanted, with his dad. He'll never know who gave him the tickets, because they came from his "guardian angel". But the way his parents described his face and reaction was priceless. He and his dad went this past weekend and my buddy said they had a blast. It was the first time they have been able to do anything that cost money in quite awhile. I will admit that I don't get too emotional very often, but my eyes were running over when my friend called tonight to tell me about their day. They are planning his son's birthday and will get to go back to ride all the rides they missed this weekend.
This was a pretty special night for me. My Mavs won and my buddy has some pretty special memories with his son. All in all a good end to a good day.
I hope all of you have a wonderful week.
Onward!
