I have always taken the germinated seed directly to as large a pot as I had room for, with excellent results ... now, I have read posts that claim you should frequently re-pot to gradually larger pots, not jump from small to large, but have never read a reason as to why they think that .. ?? .. I see no reason to put plants thru the transplanting stress any more than necessary, but thats just me ... :smokin:
I've done both. Sprouted seeds in a 3 gallon bag. And in a little cup.
The big grow bag definately wins as far as quickness. The cup was way slower. And smaller.
I was just curious because i remember reading somthing about putting seedlings/sprouts into too large of a pot, the water will seep down and the roots wont get enough water? Seems like from all the pictures i see of everyones grows, maybe 6" to 8" pots.
I start mine in a 4" clay pot, then, when she's starting good growth, I transplant to a #5 pot, theyre approximately 12" diameter, and 15" deep ... theyre sometimes called "5 gallon" ... :smokin:
I was thinkin the same..Quote:
