First outdoor attempt journal
Hey everyone I've been reading these boards a long time but never posted until now. This is my 2nd time trying to grow the first time I tried was indoors and that was not that great we had 3-4 plants growing for about 3 weeks then they all died. I'm pretty sure it was due to having a crappy light and an inconsistent schedual for the light. After those died I decided I needed to do alot of research so I've been reading and learning as much as I can off of here and other forums. So now its basically summer here in good ole MN so I figured I'd apply my new knowledge to an outdoor grow. We have 6 plants in the ground right now planted on Sunday the 14th. I may have screwed the pooch by not germinating them first but like I said we don't have a good light. So it's all bag seed 3 from some fruity smelling bud and 3 from some super skunky stuff I had over the winter. The area I'm growing looks like Earthy Danks. Nice foliage around to provide cover from peeping eyes but has a great hole in the canopy that allows plenty of sunlight in. Plus it's not too far from a lake so there's usually a nice breeze through there too. I have another 4 seeds of the skunky so I may still plant those. Do you guys think i should germinate them, move them to a small pot out doors, then transfer them into the ground or just keep doing what I'm doing? I'll have pics up this weekend when I go to see if they've popped out yet.
So my first question when do I start adding nutes and fert?? I want to stay completely natural with teas, guano, etc. So when should I start? I plan on using guano-pro. Anything else you guys recommend? I'd appreciate any advice very much. Here's hoping for a great crop!

Definitely germinate them to increase your success chances.
Use the paper towel method (please search for it) if you'd like.
Just like you said, move them to small pots, then to the great outdoors!
As to the lights... to germinate and grow a little bit, you don't need a costly light or anything... just a CFL bulb... CFL=compact fluorescent bulb. The fluros bulbs... that'll work.
When to start adding nutrients and fert... well, nutes and "fert" are usually, one and the same. Unless you're refering about the "nutes". But you can say you "just ferted my plants". Stuff like that. It's acceptable in our lexicon.
Ermmm... nutes... I'm not sure really... I'm not that much of a super-brain-remember-it-all type. 3 weeks down the road?
Guano supposedly works wonders.
I got Mexican bat guano... high in nitrogen (10-2-1 or something). It was, so so.
But go the organics way man... way to go!
Here's hoping for that great crop ! :stoned:
Keep us updated man,

Thanks everyone I'm gonna go take a look today to see if anything has popped up.

Well we got some rain last night I went and took a look afterwards and nothing yet. I have 4 more seeds of the skunky stuff so I'm going to germinate those then plant them in the next week or so. I'll have another look sometime this weekend and update again.

Ok quick update. Went and had another look nothing popping out yet so I'm just gonna count those as lesson learned and if something pops out great if not no big deal. So I have 6 more germinating of the skunky stuff. Gonna grow these indoors under CFL for a couple weeks then move them outdoors. The weather is really coming around sunny and 70's with a little humidity. Will be back with update of how many germinate.

Ok so of the ones I germinated indoors two are growing. one really well aside from a little stretching but I got more lights and a fan to help that out. as far as the outdoors are going i'm going to check today so I'll write tomorrow what i find.
