Did stress during cloning make these 2 better?

This is AK47 in day 47 of flower. Coincidence?

The leaves are getting pretty yellow on 6 plants, but not on 2. Why? The two healthy-looking ones in the middle of the scrog are identical in every way, except for what happened to them during cloning.

All plants get the same nutrients pumped from one reservoir on one timer. As far as I can tell all plants exist in identical conditions. All plants are from one mother. Here's the difference: I thought that I was not going to use those 2, so they set in the aerocloner for 10 days. That's 10 days without a direct light source, and only a tiny bit leaking in from another room. 10 days without air flow. 10 days without any circulation in the water, or any moisture on 80% of the roots. Only about 1/2 inch of roots remained in the water.

I thought these plants were dead. I decided to put them in the system with the others, 10 days after the others, more for an experiment than anything else. They came back to life, ended up about half the size of the others, and look in much better health. Was it the stress that hardened them up and made them SuperPlants? Or what else could have happened?

And furthermore: This is only my second grow with the AK47's and the yellowing happened last time to all the plants. I have heard of the leaves yellowing during flowering from many others so I assumed this was normal. But the 2 SuperPlants look so much better, like maybe they could go on flowering for another month. The others look like they need to be harvested.

What the hell is going on? I'm confused as to how this happened. I must be doing something wrong, but how can I be if those two are so healthy? Do the yellowing ones look normal to you guys. Well that's kind of a dumb question considering how normal the 2 good ones look. I guess what I mean is, is the yellowing during flowering normal for AK's?

Yellowing during the late part of flowering is normal. Those 2 are just making up for lost time. I have done the same with ones I thought were dead just to fill a hole. They may take that 10 extra days to start yellowing like the others. Awsome buds, just go by trichomes.

I'm not so sure. What you say makes sense, except for the fact that the yellowing has been going on for at least four weeks now. I only put the extra 2 in 10 days late. If your theory were correct the extra 2 should have started to yellow at least 2 weeks ago. Or am I missing something?

To date, still no sign of yellowing what so ever on the 2 SuperPlants. 50 days now. Any other ideas?

That is strange if the others have been turning yellow all that time and not those. Sorry but a little yelow in the last few weeks is normal but yours started to yellow way too early. I have AK-47 beans but have not tried them yet. If anyone who has AK-47 might be able to help ?. I have grown Northernlight, orangebud, papaya,and some bagseed and none have yellowed until the last week if much then. How strong is your nutes, cause the the yellow looks like it starts from burn on green leaf tips ? Have you run another strain and this not happen ? Every strain is dif. What are your nutrients and what water are you using and any add ons like calmag+. Yellowing is the plant burning up or the lack of nutes and it's eating it's self. What kind of water do you use ? I see what you mean but the new ones are dark green like lots of nutes , maybe burning around the corner or they can take it. Let us know what your mix is it will help greatly.

My mix is 2 teaspons per gallon of Fox Farms' Tiger Bloom, and that's it. This is about half of what they recommend to use for recirculationg systems. I have grown other varieties, and they did yellow during flowering, but not as soon as the AK's. I have tried increasing the nutes, but that was too much. The leaf tips started to turn brown and curl. Should I reduce the nutes even more? Or would that make the plants have to eat more of itself, thus turning more yellow? Oh, and I use well water - no chlorine.

I just took a close look at the 2 SuperPlants. A small spot on the tip of the leaves are turning brown. Otherwise they look great. Is this too much or too little nutes? Or do we need to be more specific, like too much or little N,K or P?

IMO stressed plants do better at a later stage if they survive. Two of my plants were near death as seedlings, but turned out to be my best two plants.

I wonder if I should intentionally almost kill my clones. If this is any indication, maybe I will try that next time around and see what happens.

If the new ones are burning tips I would cut back more on the nutes. Maybe they just don't like as much. I have heard of a few strains like that. OH, you need to have the well water tested to see I bet that's it. Something in the water. You need RO water and calmag+ and B-52 or liquid Karma.to put back what you need. Might not be chlorine, could be iron or something like that. You never know till you test. 200 is hard water but I have seen prob's with water at 100 TDS.

Iv'e never tested my water, that's probably a good idea. I never thought I needed to though until I grew AK's.
