Carisprodol (soma) Legal Status

My friend just got arrested for possession of somas, however on erowid it says that somas are unscheduled meaning possesion is legal. Does anyone know if this information is outdated or if my friend has a good chance of fighting against the charge? I should also mention that my friend is a minor, however if carisprodol is unscheduled i don't think that shoudl matter.

Not scheduled, cops often just arrest people and let the lab decide if a pill is legal or not. It should be dropped when they figure out what the pills are.
