A little late coming back to this. Anyways, the human brain has the ability to recognize patterns, sometimes in pure randomness when there isn't really anything there. This phenomenon is enhanced by marijuana. An ape paints more randomly with less intention, but in theory it would be harder to tell the difference when you're stoned. The irony of the quiz is that the first picture is actually visually pleasing, and some of the artist paintings may or may not have the same aesthetic appeal, but authoritative influence convinces some people that they are good paintings.

Well, I'm not looking to get into the Painting Collector's business, anyways. I scored 33% and felt like I was on The Late Show.
