Has any one tried putting mylar on the floor of the room? Is it worth the effort.

The more reflectivity the better. But be aware that too much light/heat being reflected to the underside of foliage isn't a good thing. It can raise the internal temperature of the plant.
Hmm... Ive found that it doesnt actually reflect that much light, as the bottom canopy is quite thick anyway. If you tie your plants down (LST) then it could be beneficial. Its something that youll have to experiment with really. Also if moneys on a budget, then dont measure the whole of the growroom. Put the pots in that youre gonna use (the largest size, if you transplant. I just stick them in the biggest pot and leave them in there til harvest, I cant be arsed with transplanting all the damn time) and only measure from the pots upwards.
Like elcheapo said, more reflectivity the better, but is forking out an extra tenner so you can cover the floor in it going to pay off with more grams of bud?
Why not trying to put some plastic on your floor instead of mylar :p.
Because plastic isnt reflective like mylar is..
Yeah, I know but still. Whats the point of puttin it on the floor? I know for it to reflect back up on the underside and the bottom of the plants where the smaller buds may be but still, I dont think it's a good idea.Quote:

Mabe try cheap tinfoil for 1 grow and see if it looks worth the effort and cost of mylar. I think it would be to hard to keep it clean enough to do any good.
