bosses - arseholes or not?

here it is

sometimes my boss is bang on - we get on well and a a laugh.

then he stiffs me over holidays -

'can i get the first week of july off?'
'well the thing is i was thinking about taking the kids away that week!'
'hmm that's great, however i am asking first and you obvioulsy havent booked anything!'

and here comes the killer

'i'll think about' pause 'no i'm gonna book something at lunch time.'

and so the question is is my boss an arsehole or am i being selfish by asking for holidays when his kids are off school?

i've been second guessing myself all day.

he is being an ass
thats the good thing about being the boss
find out when his trip is gonna start
and the night before flatten all his tires
imagine waking up ready to hit the road
and bam.rims touching cement
or you could just shine it

Hmmm.... thats a bitch!

I dont have this prob. if no one is off for the days you want, well its 1st come 1st served in our company! We only allow 2 peeps off at any one time on each shift.

and his kids can't go on a trip any other week than that one? Sounds like an ass to me.

he's got a six week window - it's the school hols.

it's also the week a couple of my mates have off work so we can go surfing.

and it's the only week of summer weather in scotland and i don't have a full body wet suit! and the atlantics pretty cold here regardless of the weather.

damn. now it just sounds like i'm moaning.

well if he's got 6 weeks to work with for his kids, and he insits on going the same week as his buds, then it's not all about the kids. Still an ass (as a bos at least). I'd be peeved if I were you too.
