Well, as long as the seed's not immature and it's viable, it should work.
To check the viability of a seed place it between your forefinger and thumb, then roll it lightly with minimal pressure. If you hear any kind of cracking noise, or if the seed begins falling apart [ duh ], then it's a dud.
Big seeds are probably better as long as they are mature. It means they'll have a bigger stem and biger cotyledons so it should grow slightly faster maybe... all depends, but their fine!
