smoking Yopo/Salvia during cactus experience?

I have a small quantity of yopo powder (3 seeds worth), to be smoked, rather than insufflated. I also have some Peruvian torch powder. Does anyone have any experience with combining the two? The idea would be to smoke the yopo seeds at some point during the trip, and I wasn't sure if there would be any problem with the combination of mescaline and DMT (doubt it, but just want to be sure as I could find no information about it).

I have been reading some stuff about smoking salvia while on mescaline, but could find nothing about smoking any form of DMT on top of it. As I ALSO have some salvia, that might be a consideration, too. It seems that being on the cactus makes the salvia experience a lot stronger than usual, and potentially more pleasant. I wonder if 1) the effects of the yopo seeds would likewise be increased by mescaline? and 2) whether the feelings I normally get from the cactus (openness and the meditative ability to let go really easily, to go with the flow) would carry over into a salvia trip, making it less overwhelming than smoking salvia from a sober state?

Any thoughts?

I have a question for you, I also have peruvian torch powder, at a dose of 80 grams, would i be able to walk around openly in a not so busy public area? Also, what about the stomache discomfort, how long will that last and how bad is it?

I would think not at 80 grams, at least *I* would not be comfortable trying it. I've been in public areas as busy as supermarkets, but it was on a fairly low dose--the experience was overwhelming in a fun way, I felt like "to hell with it, whatever happens happens", and I was able to perform simple interactions like paying for some fruit and cigarettes.

To be honest with you, I haven't experimented with doses higher than 35 yet. I like to conserve it as much as possible, and I get the effects I want from 20-30 g. Have you tried a dose that high before? If we're talking your first trip, or your first trip in a place that crowded, I would go with a lower dose (depends on the particular batch of cactus of course). Either way I'd think the experience would be more enjoyable in a different setting, but that's just my personal taste I guess.

For the nausea I would recommend smoking some pot 20-30 minutes after ingestion, either after throwing up (if you have to), or after it begins to get too uncomfortable. How bad it gets probably goes up with the dosage, but again I don't have enough personal experience to say whether there is a huge difference between 80 and 30, in terms of stomache discomfort. How long it lasts? I'm not sure how long if you just ride it out, for me it stopped almost immediately after smoking, so maybe it just depends on when you smoke. It really helps a lot as a natural medicine, and helps kick the trip up another notch... you'll be in outer space afterwards :)

My only other idea for that is to have an empty stomache before ingesting... even if you're hungry, just wait a while after the experience is underway. After the nausea is gone it should be fine to eat (food can be pretty interesting and delicious), but you're more likely to throw up and/or experience discomfort on a full stomache.

^^^How would you compare 30 g to LSD or mushrooms? What dose would have you tripping about as hard?

I haven't done mushrooms as I am potentially allergic. I have only done LSD a few times and at light doses, nothing I could begin to estimate in micrograms because I never knew the numerical doses of the blotter I've had.

I don't think the two substances are that comparable anyway, so it might not make sense to compare doses. I would say 30g was a lot *stronger* than any LSD trip I've had (and that's not saying much), but also a lot more comfortable, "natural" feeling, and psychologically helpful than any other drug I've been on.

Do you have any speculations about my original question? Just any thoughts, especially about whether I would have any harmful interactions to fear from mescaline and the active chems in yopo?

No, I don't think there would be any harmful interactions. Other than the potential for a very intense trip, obviously. My experience with DMT is pretty limited, but 5meo-dmt while on another psychedelic is one of my favorites, for many of the reasons you suggest.

For those of you who were asking about the dosage for Peruvian, I would advise against the orange juice method for anything more than a small dose. On Friday night we had a huge jug of OJ and three of us were trying to down as much of the powder with it as possible. Even using the minimal amount of OJ needed to make it drinkable, the amount of liquid was just too much for our bodies: none of us could finish our doses. I would say if you don't weigh much and have a small stomache like the three of us do, 25g is the MAX you would want to consume. Your body knows when to stop, because we tried to force it and ended up having stomache problems throughout the night.

This method results in trying to force yourself to drink more orange juice than you'd ever want to consume under ordinary circumstances; it gives you a lot of gas--your stomache feels like a giant bubble. We had to smoke frequently (not just once this time) in order to feel better. The experience was incredible and stronger than my last time... but this route of ingestion has negative consequences. It feels not so much like needing to throw up, as feeling like you need to take a shit, but are unable to most of the time.

Hi panza--I think you would be fine mixing the yopo and cactus, however I would not, I like to enjoy them seperatley, at least in my dreams. i really wanna get some torch, i have the money and the source just not a place to order it to, also ive never had much luck with smoking yopo either plain seed or extraction, but one time my friend was shrooming and i told him to try some salvia while he was tripping and he did but he kept sayin " i dunno" everytime i asked if somthing was happening and then about 20 mins later he said " i think i feel it coming on" and im like.....dude you should have been done tripping the salvia like 10 minutes ago...haha funny day
