do you feel like a disgrace to your 'race' (social group) if you listen to something that goes completely against rock/metal/punk... for example, i hate rap, yet, i find myself especially attracted music wise to sean paul and eminem... i feel like a disgrace sometimes... but i don't know why..

yea i mostly listen to stuff like phish and the grateful dead and widespread panic, but occasionally i'll put on snoop dogg or dr dre. or pantera. or modest mouse or death cab for cutie or blink182 etc. i don't care i just like good music
why get so hung up on music genre? Listen to what you like man.
Some people take thier "clique" or whatever stereotype they fit themselves into waaay too seriously.

yeah, im just being a dick, dont mind me. The point is, music isnt soley based on culture/lifestyle. Good music is good music.

I used to love eminem before Rock/Metal... but i was in year 5 (10 years old) when i liked eminem and i didnt like any other rappers...
Now i love metal so much if i listen to rap i cant stand it, and if people hear me listening to it i feel embarrased... so yeah, like im a disgrace...

No, I like any music that attracts me to it. I used to just like rap but as I got older I'm open to any music that sounds good to my ear.
personally i don't label myself as any one title or anything. that way i can listen to whatever the hell i want and not feel bad about it. nothing wrong with labeling yourself if you want to but it never interested me i guess
