My son and I are debaiting help us out. I have put our babies under 12 and 12 to start flower to sex, plan on reverting them and weeding out the males. He says that is not needed, that the females leaves will be 7 fingers or more? Also I have sexed some in 12 X 12, how long will it take to revert them to veg on 18 X 6 hrs. Using 400 watt MH to veg, 250 MH to sex with.:question: :question:
you cant tell a sex untill ya flower so put them under 12/12 and by week 2 you should be able to tell if ya are wanting to reveg just change the light cycle back to 18/6 and it will revert back in to the veg cycle without any probs but ya cant reveg once the bud starts getting big i think this will stress out the plant and turn a feamle into a male so try and do it in the first couple of weeks

A plant will eventually show its sex.. regardless of the light cycle....
Usually this will be between 4-10 weeks....
There is really no reason to sex your plants now... just grow them to the size that you wish.. probably10-15 inches... and then switch them to 12/12
they will double in size over the next 2-3 weeks... after you switch to 12/12...
they will show their sex after 7-14 days.....
and 6-8 weeks later you will be harvesting!!!!
You can not tell the sex of a plant by the number of blades..

Well you should be happy to know your completely right, and he is completely wrong. The number of fingers on each leaf varies on each strain, some 5, some 7, some 9 and even some pure sativas have 11. You cannot tell what so ever by looking at the leaves or the plant in gerenral. You need pre flowers. Keep doing it your way and it'll work!Quote:
