Mylar is fine. Mirror are no good. I use flat white paint. I also dont use hoods and hang the bulb straight down

Mirrors aren't as good as foil?
Please someone clear this up fast because I have mirrors in my light chamber and if they are being useless I'd like to replace them ASAP.
Thanks

No mirrors absorb the light.

It is best to use the dull side of the foil. crinkle it up and then flaten it out for a pebble finish or put it on a oriental type rug and press on it so it is not flat. It is called pebble finish and is the best sytle reflectors for lights

mylar is better than any type of foil as it has a 98% relectivity
if you use like 3 lights with ya room coated in myalar it is like you get 1 light free due to the good reflectivity
i use mylar and foil and i can say the mylar is ten times better than any other reflective material i have used
cheers hope this helps:)

The problem with mirrors is that they will absorb HEAT.
After 10 hours under a 600W HPS, those slabs of glass will be HOT.
Mylar is the best.
Aluminum foil... if you're using that, I think it's better to use flat white paint.
