Sending things through U.S. customs-- help
Hi, I want to recieve a large order of salvia from abroad and need it to get through customs. I know that it's 'legal' but it's still a controlled substance and I've read several stories of it being confiscated.
If yall can give me advice about the best way to hide about a kleenex box sized amount of salvia in a package so that if it is searched, it will not be seen, or at least to minimize the chance that it is searched, please let me know.
I know vacuum sealing is always good. What else?
Thanks

Vacuum sealing is good, but you should do it a few times to make sure it's a good vacuum. Unless you're from Louisiana, salvia's 100% legal and if they confiscate it, sue their ass.

dude if you really want to be paranoid about it heres what you do.
1)obtain a jar of peanutbutter
2)take off the freshness seal thing off whole and scoop out the peanut butter in the middle of the jar.
3)seal your salvia in a ziploc or vac seal it,note put on bag over the main bag so the peanut butter wont even touch your other bag.
4)put in the middle of the peanut butter and cover with peanut butter.
5)very important, super glue the freshness seal back on to the jar, very important not to damage seal, and put the lid on
I like doing this cuz it gives me a false sense of security

Dude,
I would not recommend sending anything of that size that may be scrutinzied by US Customs.
The measures described will not avoid detection by a quick & easy x-ray.
Even in the pre-911 era things were pretty tough. I can't imagine that it has gotten any easier.
Also, they will not distinguish between salvia or real weed.
Thus, you may be considered guilty until you prove otherwise.
Play it safe & smart!

Salvia is not scheduled, controlled, or regulated by the DEA or FDA in the US. Only the states Louisiana, Missouri, New Jersey, and New York have enacted state controlls on it. Internationally, there are varying levels of control in:
Australia
Belgium
Denmark
Finland
Italy
South Korea
Sweden
For once the archaic US government fell behind the rest of the world on controlling something. Its about time. If they would only unschedule some things...
Also, I imported some from Mexico very recently and had no trouble at all, it wasn't even in stealth packaging. Trying to hide it might actually draw more negative attention if discovered than if it were just in a regular package. Just make sure it isn't marked for consumption (in which case the FDA has jurisdiction over it). Any Salvia confiscated by customs under the Controlled Substances Act is an illegal confiscation.
