If I understand your question correctly, those are simply two different kinds of hydro setups.Quote:

I liked to pump the solution over the roots and then let them dry out a little. Keeps root rot down to a min.
Like put your grow setup on a couple 4x8 sheets of plywood. Tilt it so it all runs to one corner and that is where you have the drain, back into the solution ( micro floral, bloom what ever)
You just line the plywood with a water bed liner. use gravity to your advantage.
Then get an outdoor pond pump, and all the stuff you need for a spinkler sysytem. some rock wool and you are set. ohh yea some seeds
