RAIDO SHACK has them for $10.00
i use a geologist or jeweler's loupe (magnifying glass) which has a 10x on one side and 20x on the other...they work very well. the higher the magnification you use the steadier the speciman needs to be held. pocket microscopes work great (i have one too) but if you're trying to check out anything it's nearly impossible to see due to the shaking...they're more for using on a table...at least for me. 10x will allow you to see enough detail to 'read' the color changes in the trich's and id-ing preflowers and pests. the 20x is good for a detailed look at the trich's structure. i got mine at ebay ($18) and there's a selection of probably every glass currently made there...
Thank you for responding, redvettes and del. I'll look into getting one.
My preference is for the lighted 30x pocket microscope personally. I find it provides just the right view of the trichomes and allows me to harvest at the most optimal time in the plants cycle.
But the lope at 20x works too just you need to provide the light and I don't get to check my grows with the lights on due to the CO² enhancement and needing to run a sealed room.
I have the radioshack scope...it is 60-100x, like Del says, It is tough to see specimen, but once you get it, you can really see it great, like Z says.
ok, looking for lighted pocket microscope.
Thanks z.
