a question about hallucinogens

I recently tried dxm, and I loved it, and I've been a pot smoker for ages now, so I'm thinking about trying acid, or shrooms, preferably acid, my question is when your on acid, do you lose all all conciousness (i doubt i spelled that right), or can you think at least well enough to be able to come off as sober? I hope that made sense but basically what I mean is that if I do try it, and if someone tries to talk to me, am I going to be able to act like I normally do (at least enough not to notice)

On small to medium doses you will be able to talk fairly coherantly but you tend to ramble on about stuff, I get verbal diorea really badly on shrooms and talk a load of shit about stuff. To be honest you don't want to be around people who you need to appear sober around when you are tripping. It is a recepie for a bad trip.
