Can you use vermiculite as a grow medium ?

yes you can. people mix it with other stuff, perlite.

Some people suggest a mix of 1/3 perlite, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 peat moss

verm stays too wet.
use perlite also 50-50
but why dont you use lava rocks from home depot bbq section.
cheaper and you can re-use.

Like everyone is saying. It's an additive to other grow medium and not good enough to use on it's own.

You can but it works better if you add it to lava rock. :cool:
