Busted

Well a couple sundays ago i went to have a toke session with an old friend. I picked him up and we went down the street to a neighborhood park/pool with a nice forest behind it. We parked a few houses down the street then started walking into the park then back into the forest. We go to a sweet spot and start toking a couple bowls. We were sitting on some rocks and all of sudden I look up and through the bushes I see a man walking down a steep path towards our spot. We both grab our stuff that was lying out and try to sneak away into a thick blob of bushes that leads up a hill and then finally into some backyards. Seconds later at about the same time the man and my friend and I both start running, trying to escape. As we get out of the thick patch were running out of a forest so I throw my bag of herb as far as i can into a creek. Now my friend and i are running when we reach a regular sized, if not smaller fence. I get atop the fence and just fall to the other side and keep running. I hide out behind a some walls a few houses down the street in a backyard. I'm too scared to really do anything or call my friend because I thought the man was still around somewhere.

About 40 minutes later I get a call from my friend and he says "were screwed, and were at your car and your dad is here." It turns out that an off duty cop called the cops on us while watching us leave my car and walk into the park. So the man that we saw was an off duty cop, but he had a cop behind him that we never saw. My friend got caught at the fence, for some reason he never fully made it over and the off duty cop came up and grabbed him even though they were so far behind us they never saw me when i was at the fence. My friend also didnt throw his tin that held his bag of herb! so they searched him and found it. The cops ran my license plates before they talked to him most likely, and found out who i was. So when they caught my friend that assumed and asked him about me, and that i was the other dude running. The cops called my house and had my dad come pick up the car. Later i go home without ever talking to the cops. But the police want to have a conference with me the next day.

The next day the cops come to my house and give me the following charges: trespassing, fleeing from police...and possession of marijuana! i have a hearing on march 29, i'm hoping they will dismiss the possession charge because they never found anything on me, and also they might be kind because we didnt actually know we were actually running from the cops.

I'm pretty angry with my friend, mainly because he didnt throw his stash while we running which we did for quite a while. I wish he also would have protected me, saying something like the driver of the car was on another side of the woods when we ran, and that the other runner was actually someone else or something similar to. I think its lame that he couldnt make it over that fence. I'm also a juvenille.

Any idea on punishments from the judge or things to say? I could go to court, but it could be very expensive and i heard that fighting the police could create some smaller problems later on. i just want to get some peoples input. i quit toking on monday, i was thinking that if a dismiss of a charge is possible that they might want to drug test me or something. If i didnt feel that some of the charges were bullshit i would be doing a little bit of toking, since March 29 is just my hearing with the judge.

well sine you were with the kkid who had weed on him its unlikley you will get off without possesion, if the off duty cop never said he was a cop when u guys were running then u might be able to get the fleeing charge droppped. but with the possesion thing, i got charged for possesion in december even tho i only had a pipe on me, but 3 of my friends had weed so the cop was a dick and said i had weed too, depends on the judge and what state your in really

don't hold that against your friend man. i got my friend and i busted when i was a newb smoker and i regret it all the time. i packed a gravity bong bowl way too big for my level at that time, his mom was right upstairs. i started coughin before i finished the hit and blew smoke through his house cause i missed the window. she smelled it and came down. shit happens i guess.

chances are that your friend feels really bad about what happened, probably a lot worse than you feel about it. so yeah, a joke or two maybe in a little while from now, but give the kid a break. my friend would rub it in all the time, finally one day i couldn't take it anymore and i just hit the kid... a few times. felt bad about it after but he wouldn't give up.

fuck the police.i hate it when they bust people for weed.every cop i have run across but one has been a dick.

The police piss me off sometimes. I mean, catching a murdurer, good I congratulate him on his success. But come on... an OFF DUTY cop that has nothing better to do then try and ruin innocent peoples lives... that should be illegal or something. All you guys were tryin to do was have a friendly toke in the forest, have a good time. But this idiot comes and wants to ruin your life because of it. Sorry dude, I'm no legal expert by any means just hope you get a nice judge.

I would be so pissed off at my friend if that happened....but you should have just toked in your car in a safe spot. but then again if they watched you pull up they probaby snagged your license plate digits, so you were bound to get caught anyway. but your also right about your friend chucking his tin, if he did that you could have got out of all that shit. as if a stoner cant jump a fence ha ha.

I have no idea about the legal aspects, depends on your area, age, the juges attitude towards the offences etc, running from the cops really really adds to it though so i would probably lie my way out of that if you have a fool proof plan, they dont like liars so dont get caught
