need advice on cheapest setup
hey, i have never grown ever. It's really really dry in minnesota so i figure it'd be best to grow my own. i got soil, compost and seeds. i just need to know what is the cheapest kind of light i could get to just grow a couple plants in my closet, and where to get it.
and also i'm only gonna grow like 2-3 plants, what can i do to make sure i get females.
i don't really know anything, so if you could explain in terms that a child could understand, that'd be great
Thanks a lot,
Chrissake

You've gotta read my man... read all you can.
Make searches for different topics on these boards, and read everything and anything.
What's your budget $?

With a grow that small, make sure you order feminized seeds. White widow feminized or something like that. Also, one of the most important things you'll buy to maximize your yield is HID lighting. Check at your local hydro store for good deals.

get a 150 watt hps at least.for flowering(can use it for veg too)If you can get clones ,I'd just get 3 clones and grow them in 3 gallon growbags(25 cents each)clones are about 10 $

i would read the whole forum if i could but i dont have much time to spend online each day.
i was just gonna use some seeds i have lying around, but maybe i should wait until i can get feminized seeds? white widow.....is that a good idea for first time growing? i'd feel like shit if i messed it up. and the 150 watt light you mention, how much do you think that would cost? i don't really have any budget at all (i have $10 on me) but i can always scrape something together when needed. is it possible to just get a bulb that can screw into a regular light fixture like a lamp? or do i have to buy a special fixture?
i really appreciate your help

ya that first link is bogus the second has great floor lamps for 20 bucks that are flouros. the spectrum could be better but true value has replacement bulbs in a cool white spectrum. It a bit of a pain to gut the lamps but not that bad. you can only get 20 lamps a year not a problem for you.
one love
