dirt bikes?

hey guys, im thinking about getting a dirt bike, has any of you had one, if so how are they. it looks like it would be realy fun.

mabe that or a pocket bike

Get a Decent Dirt Bike.
for a starters Its gotta Be 2 stroke and 250cc or above..

yea, you give a noob a 2 stroke and watch them get hurt and never ride again, dude you wanna start off with a 4 stroke til you know how to handle a bike... 2 strokes require more and more extensive maintence anyways, if you've never rode/owned a bike before you need a 4 stroke.

buy a honda xr 200....good, reliable bike for a beginner, and will take all the abuse you can give it and come back for more. if you decide you like off road, move on up to something with better suspension, liquid cooling, more power etc. perhaps a yamaha wr 250 or a honda crf 250. don't bother with two-smokes...they will be outlawed in five years, possibly sooner if you live in cali. i own three bikes at the moment...1997 DR350se dualsport, 1993 XR600 and a '96 RM250 that has been modded for woods racing, steahly flywheel weights, bark busters, scotts steering stabilizer and aluminum skid plates.

Yeah, you see all these chavs riding about on scooters.. fuck that, good thinking get a scrambler :D

I think I might get a bike quite soon, been looking into it for a while, just don't have the cash.

i got a yz125 and a yamahaf250

personally i like my 4 wheeler better, dirt bikes are for pit riding and that isnt for me, i like the trails and a quad is just WAY more comfortable/made for trail riding

you can't get thru the tight stuff on a quad like you can on a bike...plus, quads tear up all our state-supported-but-bike-club-maintained trails. i don't like riding two track ruts! quads are fun on sand and ripping down dirt roads though.
