:) When if ever can you use bloodmeal, I bought some because I read about it, but I killed some plants with too much fert and am afraid now. It is nitrogen rich correct? I know not to fertilize until like a month correct? I'm gonna go looking for soil today that has no fert in it. Miracle grow was a mistake I made before. I hope I can find some, my seeds are starting to germinate!!:dance: I'm bound and determined to grow these plants, if it kills me!:stoned:
Blood meal is usually 13-0-0 so yes it is high nitrogen. It is only good for soil applications, unless you make a tea from it. I've used it in the past and had success. Seagird Guano is a better all around fert though, usually Peruvian is 10-10-2. Also blood meal is very low in PH so if you do use it be aware it may cause other nutes to bind at some point. Yes wait on nutes for at least a few weeks if you are using soil.

I should also add I know someone is going to chime in with the comment 10-10-2 is not a good nute for vegging because the prosphorus level is too high for vegging. The beauty of guano is it does not burn roots even if grossly over used. The plant puts the extra phosphorus to use when flowering so no waste. Just figured I'd cover that base this time around.

You can use nylon stockings. The holes are small enough not to let bits of nutes escape. Just steep them in some hot water for a while if you have a TDS meter then just test to see how well they are dissolving. If not then just leave them in there for an hour or so. You should notice that the water is cloudy at that point then just water as needed with your blood meal tea. Keep an eye on the PH though blood meal is very low PH. Be sure to allow your tea to cool before watering also. Also remember that you will need to supplement your blood meal with all the other macro and micro nutrients.

Thanks Herbus, My little guys are looking good. I learned to keep the light really close by and the stems are looking thick and sturdy, unlike the last batch I killed with too must fert. Their stems were long and thin. I might get it right this time. We'll see. Thanks again for the advice...
