How much negative pressure to control smell?

I was thinking of running a small 60 cfm fan sucking air out of the cab to help control smell. With the size of my cabinet, this would exchange the air in the cabinet once every 5 minutes. Is this enough to control the majority of air leakage from the front doors of my c24(although much bigger) cabinet? I'll be using c02, so I don't want to to turn over too quickly because I'll be totaly wasting the co2. The air pickups for the scrubber will be up high above the c02 system.

Once again, this system is just to control smell, not for venting hot air. What are your guys experiences?

i use exhaust fans to vent hot air but it does control smell also as long as the air being vented is "filtered" or in my case vented outside 3 stories up where noone is around to smell it. i'm a little confused about what you said about using the system for smell and not to vent hot air. you must have an exhaust system in place for venting hot air or your plants aren't gonna live that long. oh yeah, the dementions of my grow space are 2ft deep x 4ft wide x 6ft high. i have 360cfm total from 2 exhaust fans and there is no smell in my house at all even with the door open. hope that helps out a bit.

they just passed a med law in the state i live in! now i just need to find a doc that will help me out or someone to waiver me to grow their pot! guess what........i'm not holding my breathe! i have kids so i constantly worry about leo comin' a knockin'

I have a seperate scrubber and fan setup to control temps. This system will strictly be to keep a slight amount of negative air pressure to keep the smell inside the cabinet and not from escaping and stinking up my house. Stealth=important to me.

Anyone?

doesn't the other system create negative pressure already? as i said there is no smell in my house at all and i don't even have a scrubber, i just vent outside. and these girls are stinky!

I may try putting a box full of crushed charcoal over my exhaust fan's vent, and see if that won't help control odors cheaply ... if it doesn't do the trick, I'll use it to barbecue a rack of ribs ..... yummmm :rasta:

i have been using a few layers of this, with furnace filter material in between each layer. This stack of sheets are placed inline right before the outlet.

I am sure I will need a bigger filter when i flower, but i still plan on using the prefilter to help. It works wonders!
