another way to put it.... 1/4 is 1 out of 4...

To make 1/4 strength....
If the directions are to add 1 teaspoon per gallon, you should add 1 teaspoon to 4 gallons. Then water your plants with this and dump the rest. Its easier than measuring 1/4 teaspoon.
If you dont want to waste ferts (like me), you could measure out teaspoon, spread it out on your desk, and use a credit card create 4 equal piles. (if you've ever done coke you'll be a pro!) Each pile will be 1/4 teaspoon. Add one of these piles to a gallon and you'll have 1/4 strength.
Hope this helps you out.
peace!

Go to your local store and purchase a cheap measuring spoon set. You can get them from 1/8 teaspoon thru 1 cup. Most plant food either uses 1/8 teaspoon or 1/4 teaspoon per gallon.

i'm not laughing, and i don't think you are dumb. fractions are confusing for alot of people. if you still have problems figuring it out, just post what you are using and what strength feeding you want to give and any other pertinent info and i will happily do the "math" for you.
