outdoor in the vacant lot
I was thinking about planting some seeds in this vacant lot right next to my house. It gets perfect sunlight and i could probably water them with a hose easily. I was just wondering what kind of special care they would require. Like could i just plant them and water them and then wait till harvest or do i need special fertilizers and stuff. ??

Depends on the soil that you're going to grow in. You might need to dig a hole and mix in some perlite or vermiculite. Dig up a clump of dirt and squeeze it in your hands. Does it clump together or does it easily fall apart? I would add a bag of perlite no matter what. Then put the soil back loosely and throw your beans on top of it. Cover them to a depth of about 1/2" and water. Then sit back and see what happens.
You also might want to start the plants indoors and then transplant them outdoors. That's what I'd do.

Use good soil and you won't have to feed them for a few months. Water them on day where they need it. I watered mine during droughts daily and normally a couple times a week. Don't use ferts until growth slows or clorosis (yellowing leaves) appears around the older growth. If you use good soil and mulch then water shouldn't be a huge problem. Make the plot big as possible (3feet deep and 3 feet wide. This will allow the plants roots to spread out and take a much more intense beating if necessary.
