if you have it...put it together and find out.
Best answer, is latewood's... but my answer might add a little.:::
I have a Bake A Round cool tube setup... It's running a 400W MH inside, and it's getting the air pulled through by a 90CFM 6" fart fan.
It works. The cool tube isn't "cool" to the touch, but it works fine.
Hope this helps,

thanks turtle...so you like your's huh? Sounds like you need more fan though...at least now we have a benchmark...now, if someone builds CT with bigger fan, such as above, we can eventually come to a cfm, that makes BAKE-A-ROUND cooltube 'COOL' to the touch.lw
I have a 500 CMF squirrel cage on 6 lights, it makes BAKE-A-ROUND cooltube 'COOL' to the touch.oh watts 400-1000
Damn I cant wait to get my 465CFm for the next grow then that thing would work for sure then..? Cause now I have a 80Cfm boster fan and it doesnt do the job to the T its oK but I cant leave my closet door closed:( I'm sure when I get the 465Cfm it would to the job and There would be no more light in my room:) I wanted to know about those strong CFM fans, do they make a lot of noise... I mean how loud compared to a regular standard 12inch home fan? I was lookin at the Dayton465Cfm or an ActiveAir465Cfm

I want to upgrade my fan... maybe something around the 200's CFM. Less than 300CFM. It would use that fan to cool the cool tube, and the ballast. Something I'm thinking: If I get that bigger fan, I can get a dimmer switch... then, "dim" the fan until I find out what speed (aprox CFM) will the cool tube be, um, "Cool".

Buk,
A 465CFM fan? Dude, you'll be set with that thing. No doubt. I don't know about the noise, but it'll definitely exhaust your room. For NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), you could install the fan inside a box, and hold it down with bungee cords or something similar. ???

I was worried about noise too cos stealth is of the essence. When you live with yer mam and dad.
I wanted to add some more input to my low CFM cool tube setup...
About 2 months ago (I think), I had a malfunction with the cool tube fan's (6" 90CFM) timer... and it ran (I'm guessing) around 14-16 hours without any kind of ventilation... the bulb didn't pop (again, it's a 400W MH).
The cool tube, PVC setup thing was SUPER hot... I turned ON the fart fan, and around 1 hour later, it was down to more acceptable levels.
I just found that noteworthy...

dAMN I might have to go with a Blower in the 200s
