1ST TIMER NEEDS ADVICE

HI,IM ABOUT TO START MY FIRST GROW AND NEED SOME GUIDANCE.IVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED HYDRO 205GT STARTER KIT WITCH HAS THE WATER HEATER MISSING,SO IVE DECIDED TO GROW A COUPLE OF SOIL GROWS FIRST .THE FIRST THING I NEED TO KNOW IS , CAN I USE MY HYDROPONIC NUTES ON A SOIL CROP,I HAVE CANNA VEGA SUBSTRA A PLUS B, ALSO CANNA FLORES SUBSTRA A PLUS B. THE SEEDS IVE ORDERED ARE NIRVANA NORTHEN LITES ,MY SOIL IS BQ/S POTTING COMPOST WITH PEAT,IM NOT SURE IF I CAN USE THIS SOIL , IT SAYS ON IT, DO NOT USE FOR ERICACEOUS/ACID LOVING /LIME HATING PLANTS SUCH AS HEATHERS,AZALEAS,RHODODENDRONS WHAT DO YOU THINK.IM USING 250WATT HPS LIGHT,IM JUST WAITING ON MY METAL HALIDE BULB TO BE DELIVERED. Hiya, iv been growing 13 yrs, still make mistakes, still learn every crop. I think your canna nutes should be ok, There may be a bit too much magnesium and calcium but if you have the ph a little higher than for hydro, say 6.3, it should make these ellements less available. Theres loads of info on the net, have a look around. The soil should be ok too, i used to use tomato bags, then changed to Jhon Inings No 3, had good results. You can get ph metors for soil that are cheap and at some garden centres, there realy usefull. When i started my main probs were too much heat and over feeding. I found that sick plants ofter do well if there re poted, as big a pot as pos. Good look
