will this work?
so i just started growing. I have two pots, one nice seedling in each. THey seem to look pretty nice. about 4 days old..but what i wanted to say was.
i was planning on putting some mesh, or screen over the pot about 10 inches high to form a little bush like cover. I will keep it vegatating until the plant has pretty much taken up all the room, then i will switch up the lighting to 12-12 will this work? i am hoping to have a nice little tight bush of pure buds!

i am quite new to growing but it sounds ok. sounds like scrog method.
What lights are you using? Hopefully a few more experienced ppl will pop by to help.
Good luck.

what size holes in the "mesh" do you plan on? a rigid screen works but i don't know about just throwing a mesh "net" over the plant. 1 other thing, if you fill it completely in veg it will outgrow it within the 1st 2weeks of flower. you have to leave some room for stretch. it's a good idea, i just don't think it's feasible. you would need to be able to get to both sides of the mesh for training and also this method won't create the nice even canopy that traditional scrog does. i could be wrong about this as i have never heard of anything like it before. i am just going by my knowledge of how mj grows from growing many plants over time. let's hear some other opinions.

well i would take the net off right before flowering, so that it will grow after i take off the net, but the plant will be alot smaller and more dense then normal? correct? or am i just terribly wrong?

i really don't think the net will have any positive affect on the plant. it seems to me like unnecessary stress for the plant. but as i said before, i have never heard of doing anything like it. so you won't know for sure until you try.
if you want a smaller more "dense" plant the best mothod to use would be topping(or FIM) and lst(low stress training) i just don't see how a net could achieve your desired outcome. whatever you decide, good luck. remember if you are new to growing the best thing to do is stick to tried and true methods and above all else keep it simple. you will have time to experiment when you have more experience with your grow space and how mj grows.
