leaf shortage.
Hey guys, my plants are over a foot tall now, they are about... hmmm... coming up 5 weeks now.
They just entered the flowering stage, now, in comparison to other peoples pictures there are less leaves, and less tiers of leaves.
This is just a trial run, see how things work and what not, and I would like to get something to smoke from it.
Currently under a crappy light, but in good growing conditions, no bugs, no problems, no over fert.
So...... Just wondering, could the light be affecting my plants THAT much, or is it down to the strain, or combination of both?
I've got skunk no.1 and am still waiting for my 400w HPS light, due to delivery problems, it's been a month waiting for it next week.
It's been in flowering stage for about 3/4 days now, should I revert back to 24/0 now or pick it up to 18/6 or what.
Please gimme a hand.
Cheers.
Moley.

I am not the best on this, but I would say the light could cause a problem with it just cause even if you have all other conditions perfect your light is what turns those conditions into energy for growth. So your nutrients might just not be being used as effeciently as they usually would.

Yes I would say it is your light. What are you useing and how close to the plants is the light?

you dont want to veg a plant no more than a foot indoors,Then it may double or triple in size(depending on the strain)if it gets too much taller than that it'll make poor use of the light(light to surface ratio decreases)and you'll end up with something that looks more like bamboo to show for the added length of time that it grew....bonbon

i think my light has seriously hampered my efforts.
They are over a foot tall, and only have 6 tiers, each with a long stalk and then a leaf.
Gonna put a pic up later :(

Heres some pics of my biggest plant, last week it smelt beautiful, now i can hardly smell it at all.
I know its still growing, but much less I think, I dont know.
The stem is nice and thick.
One of the pics shows the height of it compared to an everyday beer bottle.
And one of the pics shows the dead leaves that are on 3 of my plants.
Note: 2 of them were ferted, one wasnt, and the leaves are still the same.
Come on guys, lets rally together an help my sorry ass! :o :o :( :o :o

Looks more like a strain related issue as to why its so tall and thin, besides the fact that it doesnt look like you topped it. Ya may want to try a bigger pot as well. You can still top it if you want. The dead leaves looks like its either not getting enough nutrients from the soil, not gettin enough water, or the fertz are killing it. It could also be a simple thing, due to how low those leaves are, it could just be its earlier stage leaves dying off, which is normal..Its up to you to figure out whats wrong with it...It doesnt look too bad at all. You just should have topped it. Goodluck, peace!

hmm I didnt top it,
Although some of my others arent nearly as tall, and they haven't been topped either.
Strain is skunk no.1
and it's hardly smelling, it used to be alot worse, but lately the weather has been crazy, and i can only smell it if i rub the stalk lightly an smell my fingers or whatever.
How should I got about topping it? where would be the most effective place? or should I just leave it now?
