I have been getting into holophonic sound as well
they say it transmits smell and taste even
the ear supposedly puts out a carrier signal to pick up sound
holophonic sound was recorded with a digital carrier signal
i know you can pretty much hear the same thing when you open the soundmanager and play the hrtf demo & i used the sound during a film presentation @ my school with 8 speaker surround :upsidedow thought it'd be nice for the stoners here :)

Headphones are unable to give a sence of "direction" that a sound is coming from. If they did, there wouldnt be a point of surround sound speakers
Yeah! it was amazing! felt like someone was in my room! and when he slamed door at the end, it sounded soooo real.
