I was at Orchard/OSH hardware they have a metal Halide Multi Vapor 400watt light, one of those big bulbs, it says it must be used with a ballast (M59) Not sure what kind of ballast that is either. I don't want to do it wrong or buy junk. But it would be nice to find a light that will take care of business! For Vegging and Flowering. Something nice that won't break the bank, and does both. Some links or detailed information/prices would be EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks... in advance :D

I understand your concern. money is def an issue. the metal halide will get the job done in both phases. but, the MH really puts on too much blue and not enough red for the flowering stage. I imagine you would still yield a decent amount. Maybe augment the lights with some compact fluors that are rated at 2700K. That way, you will have the red spectrum covered during flowering.
Hope that helps!

I'm not a fan of conversion bulbs because of the loss of watts that is typical of them,a 400WT CV will put out only 370WTS of light, this WD-MH has the cool with a bit more red than the std MH,enough for the flowering stage, high price, but less than a CV....bonbon
