One of my close friends made a comment of jesus when we where somkin, and it made some since.........
Why else would jesus make wine? isn't wine suppose to get you intoxicated?
just a thought, i am not here to insult any religion, but that makes sinces though.........
Wine drinking is a tradtition in hebrew culture.
He could have done to help the people at the wedding.
You don't have to drink until you're intoxicated.

I do not think that they had "designated drivers" in biblical times. Giving additional alcohol to people at a wedding, who are already drunk, is dangerous and irresponsible, because they could have run their wagons and buggies into ditches, pedestrians, etc. on their way home - or caused injuries and death to themselves and/or others in various ways.

the reason they drank wine back in those ancient times was because drinking water was very very VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY hard to find...... so the drink of choice was wine......
