okay, sorry to start another thread about this shit, but i didnt feel like hijacking a thread. so, i've heard that a lot of medicines w/ dxm in them are potentially deadly. so how can i figure out which ones arent? should the ONLY active ingredient be dxm and the inactives be just whatever or should i go through all of the inactives too and research them all? im so confused! i just wanna simple trip! :(

itakes a while to come on but once its on its great cuz it has a different ype of DXm in it and dont let the non narcotic fool u it jus means it doesnt hav ad much alchohal
delsym would work but its hard to find and alot worse for you than other ones....
but you are right that the ONLY active ingredient should be dextromethorphan. One of the reasons that you shouldnt use it very much is because of those extra nonactive ingredients like the pill shell and the goop and stuff which isnt good for you at high doses. But dont worry about them.
I reccomend the robituss 8 hour coughgels because they are easy to down and if u take the whole bottle u trip balls from anywhere to around 7-11 hours. just remember dont do it more than once or twice a month at most... most p[eople do it 3 times a year or less.
I know that you can die if you take any product with DXM while you are currently taking an MAOI (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor).

MAOI's include harmine & harmaline, as well as many anti-depressants.

When combined with MAOI's, DXM can cause "serotonin syndrome" with fever, hypertension, and arrhythmias.
Do not take DXM if you are using, or have used an SSRIs within the last 2 weeks.
SSRIs include many anti-depressants, including Fluoxetine (Prozac), Citalopram (Celexa, Lexapro), Paroxetine (Paxil), and others.

so would it be better 2 take a whole pack of coughgels or to chg a bottle of tussin?
Personally, I juse the coughgels. They're easy to take and I don't have to chug a full bottle of cough syrup. But some people like the syrup. It's just personal choice, really.Quote:
